Job Summary:  The Loan Officer Assistant provides essential support to one or more Loan Officers, ensuring the smooth processing and closing of loan applications. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loan Processing Support:

    • Prepares loan packages by collecting necessary documentation and information from customers.
    • Reviews loan files for completeness and accuracy.
    • Follows up on missing documents and addresses any conditions.
    • Opens escrow accounts, coordinates inspections and appraisals, and determines insurance needs.
    • Pre-qualifies customers using automated underwriting systems (AUS).
    • Collaborates with processors and escrow officers to facilitate loan closings.
  • Customer Service and Communication:

    • Answers general customer inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
    • Communicates with customers, real estate agents, and title companies to keep them informed about loan progress.
    • Coordinates and schedules loan closings.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Maintains Loan Officer databases.
    • Assists with marketing campaigns, including email and direct mail.
    • Stays updated on market trends and product knowledge.
    • Performs various administrative tasks, such as faxing, emailing, and making phone calls.
  • Qualifications:
    • 1+ years of related experience.
    • Demonstrated experience using Encompass360.
    • Demonstrated experience working with potential clients/borrowers in a sales environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in a customer oriented position.
    • Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending processes, procedures and regulations.
    • Solid knowledge and understanding of a variety of loan programs including Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA and secondary marketing guidelines to manage complex loan level issues.
    • Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage-related terms, such as escrow, taxes, closing documents and insurance.
