The Policy and Procedure Writer develops and maintains accurate policy and procedure documentation, ensuring compliance with FIMC standards.

What you will do: 

  • Policy and Procedure:
    • Ensures departmental processes are updated and available for audit requests from industry auditors and state authorities.
    • Partners with department SMEs to capture any new procedures, audit rush requests, and changes to existing documentation regarding the current processes or systems used, ensuring all documents are accurate up-to-date, and in compliance with industry standards.
    • Creates and revises the documents which include input from the SMEs and approvers.
    • Uses the FIMC Policy and Procedure Style Guide to achieve a common voice in all documents.
    • Maintains the tracking of published documents to monitor expiration dates and interval due dates for pending documents.
    • Ensures published documents do not expire by completing annual or 18-month reviews as outlined in the FIMC document management requirements.
    • Provides ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of the current procedures and communicates clearly and concisely.
    • Reviews and researches the cause of any outstanding issues related to assigned areas and works with necessary individuals to correct these issues.
  • Support:
    • Monitors the team mailbox for requests, audit requests, and other information.
    • Troubleshoots the system when errors are received in processing in ConvergePoint.

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years experience
  • Demonstrated experience in using contemporary style guides (Chicago Manual of Style).
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of regulatory rules and laws specific to the mortgage industry.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of contemporary style guides (Chicago Manual of Style).
