The Manager of Community Lending is responsible for overseeing the development of lending and implementing and administering all aspects of community engagement in a specified area.
You will guide your local branch in establishing, participating, and maintaining relationships with community-based, charitable, and non-profit organizations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement Development:
- Develop & execute strategies that will increase Fairway’s origination impact in majority-black census tracts.
- Monitor loan officers’ solicitation and origination of loans in majority-black census tracts.
- Coordinate Fairway’s involvement in community initiatives and outreach programs.
- Promote financial education.
- Provide information and training services to individuals in majority-black census tracts.
- Build and maintain relationships with community-based or governmental organizations.
- Inform real estate brokers and agents, developers, and public or private entities engaged in residential real estate-related business in majority-black census tract of Fairway products and services and develop business relationships.
- Serve as a resource to Fairway’s staff to encourage and develop more lending to qualified applicants.
- Branch Management:
- Effectively manage corporate mortgage branch.
- Recruits qualified candidates for necessary position within the branch.
- Provides ongoing development to Loan Officers and other branch employees.
- Develops marketing plans to ensure the branch exceeds goals of productivity and loan quality.
- Branch Business Development:
- Assesses potential opportunities and develops strategies for targeting potential customers.
- Coordinate and facilitate community events to build and maintain a relationship in the community
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in the mortgage or financial services industry.
- NMLS preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending processes, procedures, and regulations.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of state and federal real estate lending regulations.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending products.
- Demonstrated experience effectively managing relationships with internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated experience with project management and finding solutions with real estate brokers, agents, non-profits, and public, and private entities engaged in residential real estate-related business to address the minority housing ownership gap.
- Demonstrated experience with an understanding of community investment from a financial perspective.
