What you will do:
The Secondary Marketing Analyst position on the Hedging and Analytics Team will assist in managing the interest rate risk on Fairway’s mortgage pipeline. The role includes quantitative modeling; conducting ad hoc market research; and generating analytics and reporting for Fairway’s management that cover items such as overall profitability, margins, and pricing.
- Use internal pricing models to review and calculate pricing on a daily basis based on corporate profit margins and in accordance with internal policy
- Provide pricing and transactional support for agency co-issue transactions, specified pools, including issuing Fannie, Freddie, and Ginnie securities
- Provide pricing and transactional support for loan servicing, including servicing retained, servicing released and correspondent bulk sales
- Configures Secondary Marketing systems including investor pricing valuations, investor eligibility, and risk adjustments
- Develop pricing models/tools to conduct best execution analysis and optimization to maximize profitability
- Develop and implement Secondary Marketing strategic initiatives and projects including Secondary Market product development
- Analyzes pull through and configures Secondary Marketing systems appropriately
- Support daily trading activities with enhanced analysis and documentation
- Contribute to the process of model and technology improvement across various analytic and database tools for managing risk and operational processes and makes recommendations
- Broker Dealer, Correspondent, and Vendor Relationship Management
- Provides ad-hoc analysis and reporting
What we are looking for:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables) and SQL Server Management Studio
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with the ability to extract, collect, organize, analyze and interpret complex data sets are essential
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, heavily quantitative work environment
- Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, written and oral communication, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere adhering to strict deadlines
- Knowledge and understanding of pricing structures and interest rate risk management
- VBA skills a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field – advanced degree, or progress toward CFA, FRM, or other financial designation a plus
- 1 year Secondary Marketing experience
- Possess an aptitude for the mortgage industry and a keen understanding of the overall Capital Markets
- Knowledge of quantitative techniques and good understanding of pricing models preferred
- Demonstrated experience or has interest in MBS trading and pipeline hedging techniques
